How To Apply

Kindly note that certification is contingent upon students' formal application to GCCI. Upon successful acceptance into GCCI, the Graduate School will subsequently require candidates to commit to a minimum enrollment duration of one semester within the program.

Applicants should fill out the UConn application for graduate admission available here.  Applicants must fulfill the general admission requirements of the graduate school. See requirements here. Beginning September 8, 2025, the Graduate School will discontinue the application fee waiver for currently enrolled graduate students. This change will take effect when applications open for Summer 2026 and Fall 2026 admission. Please visit the Graduate School website or contact the Graduate School for further details. All others will need to pay the application fee. The application deadline is November 15th for January admission and April 1st for August admission. Applications will not be reviewed until the deadline. Application should include:

  • CV/Resume
  • A personal statement addressing your interest in the Certificate in College Instruction and how your current or future goals will be served through completion of the Certificate.
  • One letter of recommendation that addresses why you are a good candidate for the Certificate in College Instruction. Your letter writer should send the letter electronically per the application instructions.
  • Transcripts (current UConn students do not need to requests transcripts however, you should upload an unofficial/copy of your UConn transcript to your application).
  • If accepted, you will receive an email from the Graduate School. You must accept the offer by filling out the enrollment form link located in the body of the email.
